Travel-Based Role | Per Diem Available

We are looking for a Substation Technician to support the construction, maintenance, and upgrade of electrical substations. If you’re hands-on, safety-focused, and ready to work in the field—this is a great opportunity to grow in the power industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with construction, maintenance, and upgrades of electrical substations
  • Perform general fieldwork including:
    • Demolition
    • Site preparation
    • Excavating, trenching, and backfilling
    • Landscaping and pole setting
  • Support installation of:
    • Transformers and transformer banks
    • Bus structures and switchgear
    • Underground and overhead lines
    • Ground grid systems and control buildings
  • Read and interpret system maps and layouts
  • Label and organize cables and materials
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, backhoes, and compactors
  • Work safely around energized high-voltage systems
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Experience in construction, electrical, or utility-related fieldwork
  • Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding environments
  • Willingness to travel for projects (per diem provided when applicable)
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate construction equipment
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork

Preferred:

  • Experience working in substations or electrical utility environments
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Familiarity with high-voltage systems
