Position Requirements
-
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
-
Completion of an ACGME/AOA-approved 3-year residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
-
Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license
-
Active Virginia DEA with VA address and required schedules
-
Board certification through ABEM, AOBEM, or ABMS in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
-
ECFMG required for foreign medical graduates
Certifications
For providers who are not EM board certified or EM trained:
-
ACLS
-
ATLS
-
PALS
-
NRP for non-ABEM providers
Credentialing Requirements
-
Current MMR and Varicella immunity
-
Current TB testing/QuantiFERON
-
Current-season flu vaccination
-
Two-year case logs
-
Documentation of special procedure training, if applicable

Preeclampsia education required for initial appointment and every 2 years thereafter
