Visual Communications Specialist (VCS)
We are looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented individual to join our team in a dual-capacity role. You will be the first point of contact for our clients, managing the consultative sales process from estimate to order completion.
Simultaneously, you will work in the graphics department, operating wide-format printers and plotters to bring those client visions to life.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Consultation & Inside Sales
- Initial Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for walk-in, phone, and email inquiries.
- Consultative Selling: Recommend specific signage solutions (banners, vehicle graphics, ADA signs) based on client needs and brand standards.
- Project Estimating: Prepare accurate quotes and estimates using our POS system and follow up to close the sale.
- Account Management: Manage existing client relationships and follow up post-delivery to ensure total satisfaction.
2. Project Management
- Workflow Management: You will manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure they are moving through the process from graphic design to installation.
- Layout & Proofing: Verify that the design team has created proofs accordingly and send digital proofs to clients for approval.
- File Verification: Inspect client-provided artwork for resolution, color mode, and have sized accuracy before production.
3. Graphics Production & Assembly
- Printer/Plotter Operation: Operate and maintain wide-format printers and vinyl plotters/cutters.
- Vinyl Processing: Prior to printing you will need to verify that the correct vinyl is being used for the application, the size of the artwork is correct, the quantities are correct, and the artwork matches the approved proof.
- Finishing Operations: Perform laminating, mounting graphics to various substrates (PVC, Aluminum, Coroplast), and final quality assurance checks.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1–3 years in a retail, sales, administrative or sign production environment preferred.
- Software: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is highly preferred.
- Technical: Intermediate to advanced computer literacy preferred. Familiarity with wide-format printing and vinyl cutting highly preferred.
- Physical: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs (handling rolls of media and sign substrates).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for professional client interaction.
