We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Project Cost Engineer to join our team at K&A Engineering in White Plains, New York. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Role Expectations:
- Implementing & maintaining the cost management control system/processes
- Defining standardization tools to ease the cost controls in the projects.
- Implement and ensure cost control processes to report on estimates, expenditures and cost commitments accurately.
- Strong liaison with the internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the determination on the committed expenditure and update/interrogate current budget assumptions.
- Provide reporting that allows comparison across projects and understanding the differences between them.
- Liaising with the Program Manager(s), Project Manager(s), Engineering, Procurement and Construction personnel in order to understand project issues and anticipate (and mitigate) their impact on the project's budget.
- Manage and assess accurately an enormous amount of information, identifying opportunities and early warnings on any potential deviation.
- Support projects ad hoc, when required.
- Supporting the month-end Value of Work Done (accruals/prepayments) process
- Leading the month-end financial reporting process including variance cost analysis reporting.
- Develop the project’s cash flow reporting/forecasting process.
- Preparing and reviewing project cost reports providing details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances, schedules updates and overall project dashboards and assemble data to consolidate.
- Creating and maintaining WBS structures.
- Creating and maintaining Availability Control (AC) on WBS’s.
- Downloading budget, commitments, and actuals from SAP.
- Manage Purchase Requisition /Order Approval (from a cost control perspective, i.e. coding and budget).
- Generate the following reports:
- Commitment Reporting / Closing Down PO’s
- Manual accruals request
- Cost Variance Analysis Reports
- Develop and implement the Change Control and Management Process/Procedures
What we’re looking for:
- Degree qualified or equivalent qualifications / experience.
- Eight (8) years of experience in relevant role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence at various levels of the organization both internal and external.
- Proven significant experience of IT applications (SAP, Microsoft Office, Document Management Systems)
- Proven significant experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Accurate, disciplined, data analysis expert.
Pay Range $118,000—$135,000 annually
