Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

Reports to: Project Controller
JOB OVERVIEW
The Project Analyst is responsible for maintaining project and financial records and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policy & procedure.
To be a successful Project Analyst, you should possess strong accounting skills and ensure the accuracy of cost, revenue recognition and timely billing. An outstanding Project Analyst will be able to ensure accurate project setup, on-time billing, and timely payment, along with the ability to analyze and report project profitability and costs.
RESPONSIBILTIES
- Maintain Project Data by adding/inactivating projects and ensuring accurate project records, adding/maintaining project detail data, and updating relevant information.
- Support cash operations by preparing and posting cash receipts in a timely manner.
- Maintain, review, and post/update the following on a weekly and/or monthly basis, such as journal entries accurately and in a timely manner, job cost changes and ensure proper cost allocation, direct checks, and verify appropriateness, intercompany billings and reconcile with related entities, overhead tracking jobs and facilitate the transition from direct to indirect costs, facilities, and G&A pools and ensure accurate allocation.
- Authorize the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts. Review time sheets for work related to a project. Review and approve overhead charges to be applied to a project. Review various account balances and totals related to projects. Investigate and resolve project expenses not billed to customers.
- Calculate and post revenue in accordance with GAAP
- Create and/or approve all project-related billings to customers. Respond to requests from customers. Review and approve supplier invoices related to projects.
- Produce Reports: create monthly reports for management and operations, ensuring accuracy and timelines, and generate ad hoc reports as requested by different stakeholders.
- Provide backup to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll: review posted data for accuracy & completeness and assist with data-entry and processing tasks needed during peak periods or staff shortages.
- Investigate project variances, report on variances, and investigate & report on unbilled balances.
- Provide exceptional support to internal stakeholders, such as management and operations teams.
- Assist with and support the annual audit and budget cycles as necessary.
- Complete other duties as assigned to support the job cost and accounting team and ensure smooth operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field is required. Experience may be substituted for education on a two for one yearly basis.
- At least 5 years of corporate project accounting experience is required. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience with accounting software, such as Deltek Costpoint is preferred.
- Working knowledge of GAAP Accounting Principles.
- The ability to work accurately and independently.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience in Alaska Native Corporations and knowledge of Small Business Administration's 8(a) program is preferred.
- Ability to pass a background and drug screening.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position will primarily work in an office setting. The office environment is professional, collaborative, and conducive to focused work. The typical office amenities and equipment, including computers, phones, and other necessary tools, will be provided. This position may require minimal travel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
SEDENTARY WORK
The position involves predominantly sedentary work. Most tasks will be performed while sitting at a desk or a computer workstation.
SCREEN TIME
Extensive use of computer screens and keyboards is required. The role involves working in various software applications and may require extended periods of screen time.
LIFTING & CARRYING
Minimal physical effort is required. Occasionally, the employee may need to lift or carry light office supplies or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
MOBILITY
The employees will need to move around the office to attend meetings, access shared resources, and collaborate with team members.
