Job Description: As the Aquatics Manager at Aqua-Tots Swim Schools, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, effectiveness, and success of our swim programs. You will oversee all aspects of aquatics operations, including staff management, curriculum development, and facility maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Staff Management:

    • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of swim instructors.
    • Conduct regular staff evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
    • Develop and implement staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for classes and open swim sessions.
  2. Curriculum Development:

    • Collaborate with the instructional team to design and update swim lesson curriculum based on industry best practices and safety standards.
    • Monitor student progress and adjust lesson plans as needed to meet individual needs and goals.
    • Implement strategies to enhance the overall quality and effectiveness of swim instruction.
  3. Safety and Compliance:

    • Maintain a safe and clean aquatic environment by enforcing all safety protocols and regulations.
    • Conduct regular facility inspections and address any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
    • Ensure all staff members are properly certified and trained in CPR, first aid, and lifeguarding techniques.
  4. Customer Service:

    • Interact with parents and students to address any questions, concerns, or feedback regarding swim programs.
    • Resolve customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
    • Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all participants and guests.
  5. Administrative Tasks:

    • Maintain accurate records of attendance, enrollment, and staff certifications.
    • Assist with marketing efforts to promote swim programs and attract new customers.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in aquatics management or a related field, preferably in a swim school or aquatic center setting.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff members.
  • In-depth knowledge of swim instruction techniques, water safety practices, and lifeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Current certifications in CPR, first aid, and lifeguarding (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Bachelor's degree in recreation management, physical education, or a related field is preferred.
