About the Role

The firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join its team in the Melville office. This role provides high-level administrative and litigation support to attorneys and plays a key role in ensuring matters move efficiently through the litigation process. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

This position is fully in-office initially, with the possibility of a hybrid schedule (2 days remote per week) after six months, based on performance and departmental needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality administrative and litigation secretarial support in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist attorneys with the preparation, formatting, and filing of legal documents.
  • Manage client communication and correspondence.
  • Coordinate document preparation for court filings and ensure compliance with court procedures.
  • Maintain organized case files and support attorneys with litigation workflow.
  • Handle scheduling, document management, and general administrative tasks related to litigation matters.


Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant litigation legal assistant experience.
  • A commensurate combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with legal technology and court filing systems, including NYSCEF and Federal Court ECF, as well as transcription software and digital dictation equipment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated dependability in completing tasks and following through on assignments.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
