Job Title: Litigation Legal Assistant
Location: San Diego CA 92101
Salary/Payrate: $80K-$90K annually contract hourly rate (W2 / 1099), bonus and AWESOME benefits!!!
Work Environment: Hybrid (1 day WFH after initial 90 day training period)
Term: Permanent / Fulltime
Bachelor’s degree required: NO
Parking: Paid for by firm
Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired
JOB DESCRIPTION
There are 3 positions available
Candidates must have experience with Civil Litigation and Labor and Employment along with being familiar with California laws.
Our law firm client is seeking an enthusiastic professional Legal Assistant to join their San Diego office with a minimum of two years of civil or labor & employment litigation law experience. California specific experience required. The right candidate should demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative, a desire to forge powerful relationships, hone their skills and deliver excellent work to advance their career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in connection with all aspects of case management.
- Assist attorneys in preparing, proofreading, revising and finalizing legal documents.
- E-Filing in state, federal and appellate courts.
- Maintain confidential information, files, records, legal documents and reports.
- Submit intake and conflicts checks, process time entry and client billing.
- Maintain attorneys' calendars, schedule travel, appointments, meetings and conferences.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of civil or labor & employment litigation law experience. California specific experience required.
- Possess a positive attitude, be proactive, flexible and a team player.
- Advanced Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Professional.
- Skilled with use of electronic document management systems including exceptional knowledge of local rules and procedures for filing in both California and Federal courts and e-filing, including calendaring.
- Possess strong organizational, communication and client services abilities.
- Excellent writing, proofreading skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize needs based on urgency, multi-task and work in a fast-paced team-orientated environment.
- Ability to work overtime, when needed.
- iManage and Compulaw experience a plus.
