Position Summary

The Landscaping and Snow Removal Assistant Manager position requires a highly organized, personable, service-oriented individual with a high level of property maintenance knowledge. Position has overall responsibility for maintaining the winter and summer landscape within the Moonlight Community including; club facilities and amenities, residential snow removal, property wide roadway snow removal, sub-HOA landscaping and snow removal, property wide weed management with particular attention towards safety and asset protection. Accountable for managing equipment, maintenance, preventative maintenance and energy conservation. Responsible for maintaining standards and regulatory requirements. In addition, this position requires timely and effective communications between the operations team, third party contractors, vendors, members and guests related to day-to-day duties and responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the Moonlight Basin landscape including roads, drainage, native vegetation, landscaping, club facility landscaping and amenities, and equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Snow removal contracts
    • Fire hydrant and propane tank maintenance
    • Property wide weed management
    • Road and ditch maintenance
    • Genral landcasping and irrigation mainteinace at private homes, HOAs, and Club facilities
  • Administer service contracts to support the departmental revenue stream and overall property needs
  • Manage, review, coach and support the landscaping and snow removal team to effectively manage controllable expenses (e.g. wages, heat, light and power, water consumption, tools and equipment, grounds keeping supplies, uniforms, vendors, service agreements, inventory, etc.)
  • Addresses potential areas of concern and proposing solutions to owners in a proactive manner
  • Supervise approved projects to ensure timely completion within budgetary guidelines
  • Operate heavy equipment, including snow plows with sanders, Bobcat Toolcat, and loaders
  • Monitor and manage payroll functions within the department
  • Understand the impact of department’s operation on the overall property financial goals; educates staff on details as appropriate
  • Resolve owner/member issues and complaints

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with reliable Vehicle
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university
  • One to three years of landscaping and/or snow remvoeal experience
  • One to three years of hospitality experience at a hotel, private club, or other hospitality venue preferred
  • Intermediate to Expert level of Microsoft Office systems
  • Certified applicators license (State of Montana) or ability to obtain
  • Must be able to study and acquire knowledge of all club operations.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and heavy equipment.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.

Working Conditions

This position will be approximately 10% in-office and 90% onsite at the various locations across property. Work hours will vary depending on the business needs. Typical hours are between 7:00 am to 3:00 pm in addition to being on call nights, weekends, and/or holidays for emergencies based on business demands. Winter hours may start before 5am from time to time. Working conditions is typical to those found in working outdoors, exposed to the weather, and working in the snow, mud, with uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces.

When in the office, the work environment is characterized as that found in a typical office environment, with moderate temperatures and noise levels.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding job where the incumbent is required to lift 25Lbs on a regular basis and up to 50Lbs frequently; stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch and do repetitive tasks with minimal breaks. Lift & move heavy objects, climb stairs, and move furniture. When in the office the individual will sit, talk, or hear. Interact with others requiring Associate to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.

  • Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, and manipulate paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • Operate basic home repair manual and power tools.
  • See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Remain sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
