Make a meaningful impact by working with students who require dedicated support in substantially separate classroom settings. This full-time opportunity is perfect for experienced Special Education Teachers with a passion for supporting K-1st and 3rd-5th grade students who have significant cognitive and physical disabilities. You’ll be instrumental in guiding some students who are non-verbal, on the autism spectrum, and those who require toileting assistance. Collaborative support includes working with RBTs for certain students, ensuring comprehensive care and individualized instruction.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching licensure/certification
- Experience in self-contained or substantially separate classroom environments
- Skilled in delivering specially designed instruction and differentiated learning plans
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) knowledge or experience (preferred, not required)
- Comfortable supporting students with significant physical and cognitive disabilities
- Familiarity with assistive technology and augmentative communication encouraged
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about empowering students with diverse needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction to K-1st or 3rd-5th grade students with severe needs
- Develop and implement IEPs and instructional strategies aligned with each student’s requirements
- Collaborate with RBTs and other support staff to deliver effective interventions
- Support students with toileting and personal care, always maintaining dignity and respect
- Communicate effectively with families, therapists, and district professionals
- Use progress monitoring and data-driven approaches to adapt instruction as needed
