Job Description

Job DescriptionShape flight-critical parts with us in Chicopee, MA

At Hoppe Technologies (a Precinmac company), your day begins with a build plan and ends with parts you’re proud to sign your name to. We’ve been perfecting precision since 1941, supplying aerospace, defense, and semiconductor customers with complex components. Our floor features 3-, 4-, and 5-axis Mazak, Okuma, and Matsuura mills along with Mazak Integrex mill-turns—and we’re looking for a seasoned CNC expert to help us push performance even further.

A day in the life

  • Review job packets, prints, and GD set up 3-, 4-, or 5-axis milling centers or mill/turn (multi-tasking) machines.
  • Load/unload parts, operate controls, make basic program edits, and perform first-article and in-process checks using calipers, micrometers (ID/OD), depth gauges, and indicators.
  • Set tools, adjust and reset offsets, run palletized lines where applicable, and execute initial deburring.
  • Monitor quality throughout; document results and comply with our AS9100 quality system, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Troubleshoot issues, escalate equipment concerns to your supervisor, and collaborate to resolve machining or quality questions.
  • Wrap up by dismantling setups, returning tooling/fixtures/gages, and completing daily/weekly preventive maintenance checklists—leaving the area clean and orderly.
  • Independently run multiple machines or team with others to optimize throughput.

What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years setting up and operating CNC mills, mill-turns, and/or lathes in a job shop or production environment.
  • Fluent with precision metrology tools (calipers, ID/OD mics, depth gages, indicators) and disciplined in their application.
  • Blueprint literacy with strong GD&T comprehension.
  • Hands-on knowledge of toolholders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and related accessories.
  • Clear English communication, ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Adaptable, team-oriented, and comfortable in a changing, fast-paced shop.
  • Solid math foundations—arithmetic through geometry and algebra—for accurate setups and calculations.
  • Reliability and a track record of excellent attendance.

Bonus points

  • Experience on Mazak and Matsuura platforms, including running palletizer lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to run multiple machines at once.
  • Proven troubleshooting chops to keep equipment at peak performance.

Shifts and schedule

Openings across multiple schedules, including days, evenings, and weekend days. Enjoy short work weeks—three- or four-day options—with shift differentials and paid breaks and lunches.

What we offer

  • Competitive hourly pay for top-tier CNC talent, plus a quarterly bonus program tied to company performance.
  • Comprehensive benefits: health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous paid time off and company holidays—PTO is based on total career experience.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • The Precinmac Way—a platform that elevates your ideas and voice for continuous improvement.
  • Empowerment to make sound decisions leveraging your expertise.
