CLASSIFICATION TITLE: CITY PARK SEASONAL MAINTENANCE CREW WORKER

PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION:

The purpose of this classification is to perform unskilled to semi-skilled and manual labor work in the maintenance of the city park.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Performs general laboring tasks in the City Park/Golf Course.

Participates in cleaning equipment, preventive maintenance, and makes minor repairs to equipment.

Operates a variety of trucks and equipment to perform tasks.

Inspects equipment and assigned work area for safety hazards.

Mows grass at parks; weed-eating and edging, measures, cuts and lays sod; mulches lawns; blows leaves; plants trees; trims trees; seeds; lays straw; removes trees and debris.

Picks up and disposes of litter; removes and replaces trash receptacles.

Shovels snow.

Pressure washes park facilities and equipment; paints as needed.

Assists with special events as needed.

May schedule use of the facility.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
