Customer Service Representative
Saraland, AL | Starting Pay: $15.48/hour
Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Enjoy helping customers and keeping details organized? Long’s Human Resource Services is hiring an entry-level Customer Service Representative for a busy office in Saraland. This opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule, on-the-job training, and the potential for permanent employment.
You’ll help customers place orders, answer product questions, and coordinate with internal teams to keep orders moving. Success in this role requires professional phone communication, accurate data entry, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
- Take and enter customer orders received by phone, email, fax, and mail
- Handle approximately 120–150 inbound calls per day with courtesy and professionalism
- Provide pricing, product availability, and delivery information
- Monitor orders and follow up to confirm shipment within expected 24–48-hour timelines
- Answer customer questions and resolve concerns promptly
- Coordinate with internal departments and sales representatives to maintain accurate customer and order information
- Verify account details and perform basic measurement and pricing conversions
- Maintain organized records and paperwork
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute; testing required
- Clear communication and a professional, friendly phone manner
- Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry
- Good math, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage a high call volume while keeping orders accurate
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
