Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The Legal Assistant-Media is responsible for the review and downloading and data entry of support documentation in the Legal Operations process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Review legal documents provided by clients
- Determine if the document is needed for suit filing
- Redact documents as required and save to the correct file or location within the Firm's case management software
- Review file documentation to ensure all required media needed for suit filing has been provided
- Follow up with client to obtain any missing documents
- Perform other tasks as designated by management
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- At least one year data entry experience
- At least one year office experience
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in writing
- Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
- Familiarity with legal case management software preferred
- Ability to be detail-oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy
- Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with little direction or need for supervisory follow-up
- Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, and computer.
- Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and professional competencies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner
