Job DescriptionFull-time Associate Attorney - Labor & EmploymentPosition Overview

We are looking for a full-time Associate Attorney with expertise in Labor and Employment law to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation, with particular emphasis on the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and Wage & Hour laws. Key Responsibilities

  • Represent and advise clients on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including but not limited to:
    • Discrimination and harassment claims
    • Wrongful termination
    • Wage and hour disputes
    • Employee classification issues
    • Retaliation claims
    • Workplace safety concerns
    • Labor union negotiations and disputes
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex labor and employment issues
  • Draft and review various legal documents, including:
    • Pleadings
    • Motions
    • Briefs
    • Discovery requests and responses
    • Settlement agreements
    • Employment contracts
    • Employee handbooks and policies
  • Prepare and argue motions in state and federal courts
  • Participate in all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal
  • Conduct depositions and witness interviews
  • Assist in trial preparation and strategy development
  • Represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and administrative hearings
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Develop and deliver training programs for clients on various employment law topics
  • Stay current with changes in labor and employment laws and regulations
  • Contribute to the firm's business development efforts by participating in client pitches and networking events
  • Mentor junior associates and paralegals

Qualifications | Required:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the California State Bar
  • 3-5 years of experience practicing labor and employment law
  • Strong background in civil litigation
  • Proficiency in FEHA and Wage & Hour laws
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong oral advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work
