Through effective litigation and community collaboration, we challenge the systems that adversely affect the underserved.

The Role: Comprehensive Immigration Advocacy

As a member of our Immigration Law Unit, you will manage a diverse and impactful caseload, providing a lifeline to individuals navigating complex legal hurdles.

  • Direct Representation: Defend clients in Immigration Court and represent them before USCIS in matters including deportation defense, asylum, family-based benefits, and humanitarian-based benefits.
  • Specialized Protections: Handle critical cases involving T and U Visas, VAWA applications, and other protections for victims of crime and domestic violence.
  • Community Leadership: Beyond the courtroom, you will prepare and deliver community education, conduct outreach, and engage in special legal projects to expand access to justice.
  • Systemic Impact: Identify community needs and participate in bar activities to advocate for better laws and policies.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Licensure: Member in good standing of the Florida Bar Association (Required).
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in Immigration Law is preferred.
  • Mission Alignment: A demonstrable sensitivity to the needs of diverse, multiethnic, and low-income populations.
  • Resilience: The ability to professionally manage a large caseload within a high-stakes, fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual proficiency is a significant plus.
  • Teamwork: The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with support staff, volunteers, and community partners.
