Job Description Overall Focus
Provide Total Field Control for assigned projects by delivering comprehensive cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting across the project lifecycle. This role partners closely with field teams, project controls, and stakeholders to analyze project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and enable proactive decision-making through accurate, timely insights—particularly from the field cost and controls perspective.
Key ResponsibilitiesField Cost & Controls
Provide end-to-end field cost control, including forecasting, variance analysis, and trend identification
Monitor, report, and control field costs throughout the full project lifecycle
Perform in-depth analysis of field cost, progress, and productivity to inform current project status and future outcomes
Support proactive communication to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
Data Collection & Validation
Record, track, and maintain all field submissions related to cost, budget, progress, and change
Review and validate daily Labor, Equipment, and Material (LEM) tickets for cost accuracy and man-hour reporting
Work with Inspectors to ensure accurate and complete documentation is provided to support reporting and forecasting
Interface with contractors to provide training and ongoing support for EcoSys LEMs, ensuring correct rates, quantities, and estimates are submitted
Project Controls Support
Support a team of Project Controls Advisors (PCAs) in setting up, receiving, reviewing, and attesting LEM submissions
Act as a dedicated Field Cost Analyst (FCA) for high-risk and high-complexity projects as required
Collaborate with internal teams to understand incurred field costs and with stakeholders to capture indirect costs
Compare actuals against budgets and monthly forecast values, identifying drivers of variance
Forecasting, Reporting & Analysis
Prepare expenditure profiles, workforce histograms, and comparative capital cost estimates
Develop project-level and program-level monthly forecast summaries
Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and collaborate with support groups to improve project execution and cost performance
Prepare clear, concise project status reports—including variance analysis and supporting rationale—for Senior Management and Project Leadership
Key Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of field cost controls, project controls, and forecasting principles
Experience reviewing and analyzing labor, equipment, and material cost data
Familiarity with EcoSys or similar project cost management systems
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate field data into actionable insights
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with field teams, contractors, and leadership
Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
