Job Description

Position Description: Supervise building maintenance operations, daily ammonia system requirements, repairing railcars and supervise personnel. Responsible for evaluating problematic systems or facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed. This includes planning and scheduling the work force to meet daily demands and overseeing security and cleanliness in facility.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Report to and work alongside Warehouse Facilitator
• Work alongside Warehouse Supervisor to meet business needs
• Verify all maintenance personnel are present and well suited to work
• Monitor the performance of the Maintenance Technicians and Ammonia Technicians, assist with problem resolution to ensure team member productivity, and take necessary action to correct performance
• Supervise overall direction of property maintenance efforts and maintenance team and railcar fleet
• Delegate, train, and manage the work activities of building
• Protect CGW’s assets by monitoring and verifying operation of various systems, including facility security systems and alarm status; ensure visitors are controlled and monitored; and ensure facility cleanliness within GMP standards.
• Verify all required maintenance logs for building systems (fire, refrigeration, mechanical, boiler, etc)
• Adhere to OSHA’s process safety management standard
• Maintain a safe work environment and observe all safety requirements
• Assist and perform with installation, maintenance, repair and construction work in the building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing
• Inspect and maintain (physically and visually), interior and exterior buildings, parking lots, and grounds
• Repair building fixtures and equipment
• Maintain maintenance area in clean and orderly condition
• Occasional assistance with warehouse loading and unloading duties
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with team members, vendors, and customers
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
• High school diploma or GED
• Dependable attendance, hard work, team player
• Ability to use all tools required to repair and refurbish buildings and railcars
• Perform heavy, physical labor
• Operation of various hand and power tools
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
• Able to work outdoors in extreme all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet)
• Able to work in conditions that include dirt and dust
• Able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with or without assistance
• Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
• Able to perform work on uneven surfaces
• Frequently climb ladders and on/off equipment, and work from various heights including making repairs on top of railcars/buildings
• Able to work on and around heavy and moving machinery
• Bend, walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time
• Use hand tools
• Follow safety policies and procedures
• Wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner
