Position Overview:

The Information Assurance Specialist II will support the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO) in advancing cybersecurity governance, information assurance processes, and enterprise-wide compliance initiatives. This position plays a key role in helping maintain cybersecurity program oversight, support cybersecurity performance reporting, and enhance alignment with DoD policy, NIST standards, and other federal requirements. The specialist will work with senior cybersecurity staff to track cybersecurity initiatives, contribute to technical documentation, and support governance engagements across the DoD.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the development and maintenance of cybersecurity governance documents, performance reports, and briefings for senior DoD leadership.
• Assist with the collection, analysis, and integration of cybersecurity metrics and data sources to support enterprise-level reporting.
• Contribute to technical documentation related to cybersecurity initiatives, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Zero Trust Architecture efforts.
• Coordinate and prepare materials for cybersecurity working groups, governance forums, and leadership reviews.
• Track cybersecurity program activities and initiatives across the DoD Components and mission partners.
• Support the review of policy, technical standards, and cybersecurity implementation strategies for consistency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise to gather input, validate reporting, and align efforts.

Qualifications:

Required:
• Active Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) clearance.
• 3–5 years of experience in information assurance, cybersecurity, or security compliance within a DoD or federal environment.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity governance structures, NIST 800-53, and RMF processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to technical accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).

Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience supporting DoD CIO or Component cybersecurity programs.
• Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or CAP.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture concepts, CMMC, or cybersecurity strategy implementation.
