Title: Corporate Attorney
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Compensation: $200,000 – $250,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
This Corporate Attorney will serve as the senior legal advisor for a growing, multi-state information management and services organization. The role provides strategic and hands-on legal guidance across commercial contracts, regulatory matters, risk management, and corporate governance. This position requires a seasoned legal professional with experience operating in a larger or more complex environment who can bring structure, foresight, and executive-level partnership to the business.
Your role
· Lead all corporate legal matters, serving as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership and department heads.
· Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including customer contracts, vendor agreements, strategic partnerships, and real estate documents.
· Guide mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, supporting due diligence and integration activities.
· Oversee compliance with federal, state, and industry-specific regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
· Advise on employment-related matters in partnership with HR, including policies, disputes, and risk mitigation strategies.
· Manage outside counsel relationships, controlling legal spend while ensuring high-quality representation.
· Develop and maintain corporate governance frameworks, board materials, and internal policy documentation.
· Proactively identify legal and operational risks and recommend practical, business-aligned solutions.
What you’ve got
· Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
· 10+ years of corporate legal experience, ideally within a $100M+ organization or large law firm environment.
· Strong background in commercial contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
· Experience supporting executive leadership and providing strategic legal guidance in a growth-focused business.
· Demonstrated ability to balance legal risk with operational realities in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience managing outside counsel and overseeing litigation or dispute resolution matters.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
· Background in information management, logistics, industrial services, or similar sectors is preferred.
· Experience in M&A and post-acquisition integration is preferred.
