Job DescriptionPosition Summary
Provide customer service and sales support both in person at the sales counter and over the phone. Assist customers with purchasing industrial supplies, safety equipment, rigging, tools, hardware, and workwear. This role involves answering customer inquiries, recommending products, processing orders, preparing quotes, and building strong customer relationships while ensuring accurate and timely service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist walk-in customers with product selection and purchases at the sales counter.
- Handle inbound phone calls, assist customers with product questions, and process orders over the phone.
- Proactively identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
- Provide product information on safety supplies, fall protection, rigging, tools, hardware, and workwear.
- Enter customer orders and sales transactions accurately into the computer system.
- Prepare quotes, check product availability, and follow up on customer requests.
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers through professional, responsive service.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to confirm inventory availability and ensure orders are fulfilled accurately.
- Assist with returns, exchanges, and resolving customer concerns.
- Maintain an organized sales counter and showroom.
- Support daily sales activities and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service, counter sales, inside sales, or phone sales preferred.
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills, both in person and over the phone.
- Comfortable answering incoming calls, discussing products, and processing customer orders.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to enter orders accurately.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to learn product specifications and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented.
- Experience with industrial supplies, construction materials, tools, safety equipment, or distribution is a plus.
