Job DescriptionJob Description: Senior Cyber Systems AdministratorPosition SummaryThe Senior Cyber Systems Administrator will provide advanced systems administration, cybersecurity management, and technical support for enterprise-level IT systems in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS). This role is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient IT operations while ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures. The individual will work closely with program managers, system owners, and IT staff to implement solutions that enhance the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of mission-critical systems.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise IT systems, including servers, networks, and security appliances.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices in line with NIST, FISMA, and DoD standards.
  • Conduct system monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis to proactively identify and mitigate threats.
  • Manage user accounts, access controls, and authentication services to ensure secure system operations.
  • Provide Tier III technical support, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex IT and cybersecurity issues.
  • Support system accreditation, audits, and compliance documentation efforts under RMF and related frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, and operational documentation.
  • Ensure timely patch management, system updates, and security configurations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support IT modernization, cloud migration, and emerging technology initiatives.
  • Mentor junior system administrators and provide knowledge transfer to team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of progressive IT systems administration experience with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III certification (e.g., CISSP, CASP+, CISM).
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, DoD Cloud).
  • Strong understanding of RMF, NIST SP 800-53, STIGs, and related cybersecurity compliance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Active Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • Experience with cloud security, Zero Trust Architecture, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Background in supporting federal contracts or defense-related IT environments.
  • Knowledge of SIEM tools (Splunk, Elastic, etc.) and advanced threat detection methods
