Busy and well-established law firm is seeking an experienced paralegal or law clerk to join our team full-time. This is a demanding but rewarding position supporting attorneys in matters involving federal and state tax issues, bankruptcy, consumer debt negotiations, and litigation support.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of legal experience and be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. This position will fill a key role on our bankruptcy team, and training will be provided regarding the tax-related aspects of bankruptcy practice.
Responsibilities
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal materials
- Perform document review and case file management
- Conduct legal and internet research
- Communicate with clients via phone and email in a professional manner
- Maintain organized case files and report case updates to attorneys as needed
- Assist attorneys with bankruptcy, tax, and litigation matters
- Manage multiple deadlines and tasks simultaneously
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience as a paralegal or law clerk preferred
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Professional demeanor when interacting with clients
- Proficiency in Best Case, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet research
- Ability to handle multiple files and deadlines under pressure
- Experience or familiarity with bankruptcy, tax law, or real estate matters is preferred
