The Infrastructure Engineer is a technical and client-facing role responsible for the full lifecycle of access control and surveillance projects — from initial site assessment and system design through installation oversight, commissioning, and ongoing support. This role requires deep hands-on experience with IP-based surveillance platforms and access control systems, combined with strong project and customer communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct customer site surveys and job walks; capture detailed notes on scope and requirements
- Design complete turn-key access control and video surveillance solutions based on customer criteria and field observations
- Source products, write detailed proposals including scope of work, bill of materials, and labor estimates
- Oversee field installation of awarded projects; coordinate with technicians to ensure quality and schedule adherence
- Configure and commission all hardware and software prior to system handoff
- Deliver on-site system demonstrations and end-user training
- Support customers with video investigation requests and footage retrieval
- Monitor and troubleshoot deployed systems both remotely and on-site
- Produce as-built drawings using AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio as required
- Serve as a technical resource for escalated troubleshooting across customer equipment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive experience designing access control and IP video surveillance systems
- Expert-level knowledge of Milestone Systems or OnSSI VMS platforms
- Hands-on experience with IP cameras from Axis, Avigilon, Arecont, and similar manufacturers
- Solid understanding of low-voltage wiring and network infrastructure
- Proficiency across Windows operating environments including desktop and server editions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client-facing engagements

- Milestone Systems or OnSSI Advanced Certification
- Axis Network Video Certification
- S2 Systems Certification
- Cisco IP Video Surveillance Systems Certification
