MSAG is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our dynamic contract team. As a Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the technological infrastructure that supports our customer's mission of ensuring the safe and efficient operation of airports across the United States. You will work with a dedicated team of professionals to manage, secure, and optimize IT systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability and performance.
Location: Blended (3-5 days on-site in Washington, DC)
Requirements:
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, business systems, management information systems, IT management, and other IT degrees are required (Engineering, math, and science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees).
- 5 or more years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:System Maintenance and Administration:
- Administer, monitor, and maintain servers, storage systems, and network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems requirements, software applications, and security patches.
- Perform routine system backups, system restoration actions, and disaster recovery planning to safeguard critical data.
- Support requirements, development, deployment, and sustainment of Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities, and business analytics.
- Responsible for completing tasks, focusing on requirements, and planning to meet client needs.
- Provide key input and support to technical designs for a variety of projects.
Network Management:
- Provide back-up and recovery capabilities to include saving before-and-after images of incomplete transactions whenever the System suffers an abnormal termination (e.g., system error, power failure)
- Provide integration support for all Middle ware components (including networking) and supported applications interfaces.
- Identify and resolve browser integration problems.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect ARP's IT assets and data.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, addressing any identified risks promptly.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations and cybersecurity standards, such as NIST and FISMA.
User Support:
- Provide technical support to ARP staff, addressing hardware and software issues promptly and effectively.
- Support configuration queue managers and brokers.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
- Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and compliance status.
Collaboration and Training:
- Collaborate with IT teams within the FAA to ensure seamless integration and coordination of IT services.
- Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance the IT proficiency of ARP staff.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities for this position:
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, preferably in government or aviation-related context.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and AWS systems.
- Experience with IIS and SQL server configuration.
- Familiarity with network protocols, security principles, and firewall configurations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Familiarity with Agile development technologies.
- Experience providing incident, problem, and change management support.
- Experience within Middleware, JAVA, or related technology.
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., JAVA, C, C++, and/or similar products).
- Experience with scripting and automation.
- Knowledge of XML configuration and layout.
- Experience in-depth experience of working in a 2nd/3rd line IT support or project delivery environment.
- Knowledge/expertise in managing the security and privacy aspects of an organizational system.
