Position Title: Automotive Service Advisor
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a customer-focused and organized Automotive Service Advisor to join our team. As the primary point of contact between customers and the service department, you'll be responsible for creating a positive service experience from drop-off to pick-up. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, automotive knowledge, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and listen to their vehicle concerns in a professional and friendly manner.
- Write up repair orders and accurately document customer requests and technician recommendations.
- Provide cost estimates, explain services, and obtain customer approvals.
- Coordinate with technicians to communicate repair status and timelines.
- Keep customers informed throughout the repair process and ensure satisfaction at delivery.
- Upsell preventative maintenance and service packages where appropriate.
- Manage service appointment scheduling and workflow.
Must-Know Items:
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and common service needs.
- Ability to translate technical information into simple, clear language for customers.
- Experience using repair order systems (RO Writer & DVI inspections.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of warranty and service contract guidelines is a plus.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a customer service role (automotive preferred).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional automotive or business training is a plus.
