Position: Director of Spa

Location: Luxury Hospitality Environment

Overview:

A luxury property is seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Spa to lead and oversee all aspects of spa operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction, team performance, operational efficiency, and profitability. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, deep knowledge of spa services and wellness trends, and a proven ability to manage both people and performance in a dynamic hospitality setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Oversee the daily operations of the spa, ensuring exceptional service and a seamless guest experience
  • Maintain a consistent presence in the facility to monitor operations and service quality
  • Handle guest concerns with discretion and professionalism, always striving to exceed expectations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth coordination of services and events

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team of therapists, estheticians, and support staff
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented work environment
  • Conduct regular team meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations
  • Identify development opportunities to elevate service standards and staff expertise

Financial Oversight

  • Develop and manage the spa’s budget, track revenue, and control operational expenses
  • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to increase profitability without compromising service quality
  • Drive retail and service sales through effective promotions, upselling, and guest engagement

Marketing & Guest Engagement

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional campaigns and seasonal offers
  • Promote spa services and retail products to enhance the guest experience and boost revenue
  • Build relationships with loyal and repeat guests, actively seeking feedback for continuous improvement

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure compliance with all local and state health, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain staff certifications and licenses in accordance with legal standards
  • Oversee the cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of treatment rooms, locker rooms, and public spaces

Special Events & Group Coordination

  • Coordinate and execute group spa bookings, corporate retreats, and special events
  • Ensure seamless planning and delivery of group services, maintaining the highest level of guest satisfaction

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in spa or wellness management within the hospitality industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of spa operations, therapies, and current wellness trends
  • Experience with budget management, financial reporting, inventory control, and vendor relationships

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Able to stand for extended periods and assist with light physical tasks
