Job Description – Rheumatology/Dermatology Editor
Duration: 06 months contract with the possibility of extension or conversion
Pay rate: $45/hr on W2

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign and edit rheumatology and dermatology-focused news articles and medical content for physician audiences.
- Pitch, research, and write in-depth feature stories with creative and investigative angles.
- Collaborate with editorial leadership and cross-functional teams to develop engaging editorial content.
- Work with freelance writers and contributors by providing clear story assignments and editorial guidance.
- Ensure content accuracy, balance, timeliness, scientific integrity, and editorial quality.
- Partner with marketing teams to support newsletters, promotional campaigns, and audience engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate with operations and publishing teams to ensure timely content publication.
- Translate complex medical terminology and scientific concepts into clear, concise, reader-friendly language.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Biology, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare content editing, medical journalism, or scientific writing.
- Strong knowledge of rheumatology and dermatology therapeutic areas.
- Experience editing medical news, feature articles, and long-form investigative content.
- Excellent proofreading, copyediting, and editorial judgment skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced editorial environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and freelance contributors.
- Creative mindset with the ability to identify compelling story angles and content opportunities.
- Ability to simplify medical jargon and academic content for broader healthcare audiences while maintaining scientific accuracy.
