Casino Cage Cashier Job Description

Position Summary

The Casino Cage Cashier is responsible for the accurate handling of cash, chips, tickets, and financial transactions within the casino cage. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of casino funds, ensuring compliance with internal controls, gaming regulations, and providing professional customer service to casino patrons.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately exchange cash for gaming chips, tickets, vouchers, and other approved instruments • Redeem chips, tickets, and vouchers for cash in accordance with casino procedures • Process jackpots, fills, credits, marker payments, and payouts as authorized • Verify patron identification for large transactions and regulatory requirements • Maintain a balanced cash drawer and reconcile all transactions at shift end • Comply with all internal controls, accounting procedures, and gaming regulations • Detect and report counterfeit currency, suspicious transactions, or potential fraud • Complete required logs, reports, and documentation accurately and timely • Provide courteous, professional, and efficient guest service • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and patron information • Communicate effectively with management, security, surveillance, and accounting • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and compliance standards

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required • Previous cashier, banking, accounting, or casino experience preferred • Strong math and cash-handling skills • High attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment • Strong customer service and communication skills • Ability to obtain and maintain required gaming licenses • Must pass background check, drug screening, and credit check (if applicable)

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods • Manual dexterity to handle cash, chips, and paperwork • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts • Work performed in a secure, monitored cage environment

Reporting Structure

Reports directly to the Cage Supervisor or Cage Manager. Works closely with Casino Operations, Security, Surveillance, and Accounting.
