Job Title: Wire Assembler

Job Description

The Wire Assembler mounts electrical components and wires automated machinery to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role includes complete installation and integration of electrical systems on equipment, precise assembly and wiring of control boxes, and soldering of PC boards and cable assemblies with high-density connectors. The Wire Assembler also supports documentation updates, constructs electrical test fixtures, and performs additional tasks as needed to support production and machine build activities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all electrical assemblies meet performance and quality requirements
  • Install and connect machine electrical systems in accordance with engineering specifications and production standards
  • Fabricate, layout, and assemble electrical enclosures, including drilling, component placement, and final wiring
  • Build custom testing apparatus and fixtures used to validate machine functionality and support quality inspections
  • Assemble cable harnesses and machine wiring packages, including routing conductors through assemblies and securing terminations
  • Perform soldering on circuit boards, wiring harnesses, and complex connector assemblies requiring fine-detail workmanship.
  • Mount electrical panels, hardware, and supporting components during machine build activities.

Essential Skills

  • Assembly experience with mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ability to follow directions accurately and consistently.
  • Proficiency in wiring tasks for automated machinery and control boxes.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Sufficient hand strength to crimp wires repeatedly after feeding them through components.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately for assembly and layout tasks

Work Environment

The typical work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on first shift. The position involves frequent use of hand and power tools, wire crimping tools, and soldering equipment, as well as working with automated machinery, control panels, and electrical test fixtures. Basic computer systems and Microsoft Office applications are used to access documentation and record information. The environment supports focused, detailed work, and requires comfort with repetitive hand-intensive tasks that may cause initial hand fatigue.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $26.00/hr.
