POSITION SUMMARY:

This position contributes to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the toolset and application used by the NSOC (Network and Security Operations Center). The DevOps Engineer is responsible for maintaining all hardware and applications used by the NSOC as well as orchestrating customer onboardings for new Managed Services clients. This role requires the engineer to serve as the primary resource for escalation requests related to failures and outages within Aspire’s Managed Services toolset.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

Maintain and troubleshoot toolsets owned by Managed Services, including but not limited to: AWS, ScienceLogic, ConnectWise Automate, RestorePoint, BrightGauge, ServiceNow, etc.

  • Maintain and manage VIGILEN's appliances, including upgrades, patches, and resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines as related to provisioning and deployment of Managed Services resources in AWS.
  • Create, update, and enhance written processes, procedures, and documentation using guidelines focused on ease of understanding and attention to detail.
  • Maintain vendor relationships, including planning, updates, and support.
  • Respond to outage notifications related to Managed Services applications.
  • Daily preventative maintenance checks on Managed Services applications and VIGILEN's appliances, which include detailed notes within ServiceNow on all issue resolution activities.
  • Manage, maintain, and implement scripts and processes on monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Evaluate and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into the systems operation and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with frontline teams to obtain feedback to use as outputs for solution delivery
  • Research, gather feedback, and help build momentum for workflow and technology changes within the organization
  • Participate in the building and testing of custom integrations between key Managed Services applications
  • Troubleshoot issues, resolve complex system problems, and develop and manage complex workflow rules, data validations, and object customizations

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 1+ years of Experience with enterprise scripting languages (i.e., Python or PowerShell)
  • Understanding of networking and/or security architecture
  • Experience with database administration (MySQL or similar)
  • Experience with APIs and REST APIs
  • Experience with Linux server administration

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years of API, SQL, and scripting experience
  • 2+ years of Cisco networking and/or security experience
  • Experience with Cisco Management Dashboards and their APIs (e.g., Meraki, Umbrella, AMP, DNA Center, StealthWatch, and ISE)
  • Experience with network automation platforms (such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Experience with object-oriented languages (Java, .NET, C++), JavaScript, and web services
  • Experience with Ticketing System Integration (ServiceNow and ConnectWise)
  • Experience with Network Monitoring Systems (ScienceLogic and ConnectWise Automate)
  • Experience with front-end reporting tools (SharePoint, Domo, BrightGauge, Jasper, etc.)
  • Familiarity with a DevOps environment
