Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students in grades 3–8 as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant learning community near Jefferson City, TN. You’ll work closely with a caseload of 23 students, making a considerable impact by providing tailored instruction and support. This full-time position starts as soon as possible and runs through May 2027, giving you a chance to foster growth and achievement over multiple school years.
Qualifications:
- Active and valid 461 TN SPED License required
- Prior experience in classroom settings or with students requiring special education services appreciated
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Dedication to differentiated instruction and collaborative teamwork
- Ability to create and track individualized education plans (IEPs)
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver instruction adapted to the needs of students with diverse learning profiles
- Develop and maintain IEPs in collaboration with support staff, families, and other educators
- Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement
- Track student progress, provide regular updates, and implement interventions as needed
- Engage with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for each student’s educational journey
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and interdisciplinary collaboration
