Job Description

As a Security Officer - Access Control in Ashland, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location where you will support access control at entry points, verify credentials and badges, manage visitor and driver check-ins, and help maintain accurate logs. You will remain highly visible, perform routine patrols around assigned areas, and communicate clearly with team members and site personnel. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
• Manage access control at entrances, guard stations, and/or gates by checking identification and credentials, issuing and collecting visitor badges, maintaining visitor and vehicle logs, and coordinating with site contacts for approvals.
• Support dock and yard operations by verifying driver documentation, directing visitors and delivery personnel to approved areas, and helping to deter unauthorized entry or restricted area access.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns, completing incident documentation, and communicating updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the building, trailer yard, and perimeter, and monitor cameras and alarm systems when assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer Service Experience is preferred.
• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
• Loss Prevention is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
