Legal Secretary Role Overview
Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to support attorneys and paralegals in a fast-paced litigation environment. The role involves managing legal documentation, coordinating schedules, and ensuring smooth administrative operations within the legal team.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Document Preparation: Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, including summonses, complaints, motions, subpoenas, and briefs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Case File Management: Organize and maintain physical and digital case files, including opening, closing, and updating files.
- Calendar Management: Schedule appointments, hearings, trials, and meetings, ensuring all deadlines are recorded in the docketing system.
- Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, answering phones, responding to emails, and handling inquiries with discretion.
- Office Administration: Manage office tasks, including entering and posting attorney time entries, scanning, photocopying, faxing, and arranging couriers.
- Professional Liaison: Coordinate with court officials, attorneys, and other professionals to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Legal Knowledge: Understanding of legal terminology, documentation, and court procedures.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and case management software.

Education and Experience
