Job Summary
Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS) a Pacific Northern Environmental LLC division, is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service and skills to our company, clients, and employees.
Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of five divisions including Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Taurus Power and Controls (Taurus), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC is a multi-state organization with operating offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. In addition, we carry out projects across the United States.
CCS provides industrial cleaning and spill response to almost every pulp and paper mill in the Pacific Northwest. We also service major oil companies and a wide range of manufacturing and industrial clients. CCS has demonstrated its ability to complete large and complex industrial cleaning challenges on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the most stringent industrial health & safety programs. No industrial cleaning job is too large or too small for CCS.
The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining fleet vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and cost efficiency. Additionally, they provide leadership by mentoring junior technicians, supervising operations in the absence of management, and effectively communicate fleet status and repair needs.
Education and Experience Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Drivers License Required.
15+ years experience as a fleet technician with an advanced understanding in computer diagnostics required.
CDL A/B with tanker endorsement is highly preferred.
Previous work experience with vacuum trucks, sweepers, 80 and/or 120 bbl strongly preferred.
Associate or bachelors degree in diesel technology, automotive technology, or a related field preferred.
ASE Certifications or Technical training in vehicle diagnostics, electrical systems, or hydraulics preferred.
Must have extensive knowledge and experience in fleet maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Lead Technician possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:
Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
Leads equipment rebuilts, including engine swaps, when appropriate and applicable.
Oversee workflow prioritization and ensure efficient process management in the shop.
Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to maintain safety and compliance with DOT, OSHA and other industry standards.
Supervise heavy duty fleet operations when the Director of Fleet or Manager is unavailable.
Mentor and train junior mechanics or technicians to enhance their skills and career growth.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
Ensure fleet reliability and cost efficiency throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
Communicate effectively and professionally with management and operations teams regarding fleet availability and repair needs.
Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Preform emergency roadside repairs and provide technical support for drivers and operators.
Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:
Move about the jobsite as needed.
Move work related equipment up to 50lbs.
Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
Operate various technological devices, including but not limited to a computer.
Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs.
