Job Title: Field Service Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a Field Service Technician to provide proficient technical support for our valued customers. Your role will involve training, repair, preventive maintenance, and startup assistance for new and existing instruments within a single product line. This position requires traveling 50% of the time to customer locations.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test customers' instruments, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Manufacture permeation equipment for testing packaged food products.
- Provide customer service via phone and email, addressing technical issues.
- Perform in-house troubleshooting, repair, and testing of instruments.
- Assist with in-house and on-site troubleshooting of customer instruments.
- Complete and submit accurate 'Instrument Repair Log' documents for each instrument.
- Maintain and update knowledge on new or improved maintenance methods and techniques.
- Communicate with customers to confirm scheduling and requirements for on-site services.
- Keep management informed of customer issues and technical problems.
- Work effectively with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of experience as a technician with an electronics experience.
- Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and voltmeters.
- Strong electronic and mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2 years of college or technical institute courses preferred.
- Testing experience on Gas Detector/Sensor equipment is highly preferred.
- 2-year technical degree is preferred but not required.
