Job Title: Licensed SPED Teacher

Location: Sterling, VA 20164

Duration: 38 weeks

Schedule: 8:00 AM–3:30 PM

Program: Grades 6–8 Autism Program

Position Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Special Education Teacher to support students in a Grades 6–8 Autism/Special Education program. The teacher will provide specialized instruction, implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), support student behavior, and create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students in Grades 6–8 within an Autism/Special Education program.
• Develop and implement lessons based on individual student learning needs and IEP goals.
• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and varying developmental and academic needs.
• Implement behavior management and behavior intervention strategies.
• Monitor and document students' academic, behavioral, and developmental progress.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, counselors, and other school staff.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of student goals.
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Follow applicable school policies, special education regulations, and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Active Special Education teaching license/certification appropriate for Virginia.
• Experience working with middle-school students in Grades 6–8.
• Experience working with students with Autism/ASD.
• Strong behavioral support and behavior management experience required.
• Experience implementing IEPs and individualized instructional strategies.
• Strong classroom-management, communication, and organizational skills.
