Job Title: Legal Secretary

Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 / Per Hour (depending on experience)

Job Description
The Legal Secretary will support attorneys and program staff by assisting with case coordination, client interaction, and administrative functions. This role involves a mix of legal support, client-facing responsibilities, and general office coordination in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intake conversations with clients in person or over the phone to gather information and assess needs
- Provide general guidance and connect individuals to appropriate services or external resources when applicable
- Assist with gathering documentation and conducting basic research to support casework
- Prepare and organize case materials for attorneys and program staff
- Support legal processes by drafting basic documents and assisting with administrative case tasks
- Manage front desk responsibilities, including greeting visitors and directing inquiries appropriately
- Respond to incoming calls and route messages to the appropriate team members
- Maintain accurate case records, reports, and tracking data in accordance with internal requirements
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and community-related initiatives
- Monitor client situations and escalate urgent matters to leadership as needed
- Handle additional administrative and project-based tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Experience:
- 1+ year of experience in a legal, administrative, or client-facing role
- Interest or exposure to legal services or nonprofit work is a plus
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Soft Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional and approachable demeanor
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
