Keller Schroeder is looking for a CAD Technician for our direct client in Houston, TX. This is a 6-month contract that is onsite. The CAD Tech will prepare detailed drawings of architectural and structural features of buildings or drawings and topographical relief maps used in civil engineering projects, such as highways, bridges, and public works. A typical CAD Tech utilizes knowledge of building materials, engineering practices, and mathematics to complete drawings. Our client is unable to provide sponsorship at this time.

Responsibilities:

- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
- Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
- Analyze technical implications of architect's design concept, calculating weights, volumes, and stress factors.
- Draw rough and detailed scale plans based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
- Obtain and assemble data to complete designs.
- Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects such as highways, sewage disposal systems, and dikes, working from sketches or notes.

Requirements:
\n

- High school diploma or GED required
- Up to 2 years’ experience.
- Basic knowledge of relevant computer application, such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting).
- Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
