CRI Manager of Information Systems

We are seeking a Manager of Information Systems who can provide overall leadership for the organization’s technology infrastructure, information systems, cybersecurity, and telecommunications. This position ensures technology resources support operation excellence, regulatory compliance, and the strategic goals of the agency.
This is both a hands-on technical leadership role and a strategic planning role.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology & Infrastructure
- Oversee all information system infrastructure, networks, virtual private networks, servers, telecommunications, and computing resources, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
- Ensure secure, reliable, and efficient IT operations across the organization.
- Establish performance metrics, monitor system performance, and implement improvements to maximize system uptime and user efficiency.
- Manage hardware/software selection, implementation, and upgrades.
- Backup support for IT Tech needs. As needed, install and update computer equipment including servers, user PCs, laptops, networked devices, and similar. As needed, provision end users with assigned equipment. As needed, install and update office network wiring, hubs, access points.
Security & Compliance
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with organizational goals and compliance obligations.
- Maintain system access controls and cybersecurity safeguards, enforce data protection and retention measures. Maintain firewalls and filters.
- Plan and regularly conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments. Develop and implement security improvement plans.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to information systems
- Develop, maintain, and update business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Strategy & Planning
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and maintain a strategic technology plan aligned with organizational goals and compliance obligations.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements, implement approved improvements with effective change-management practices.
- Establish technology standards and best practices.
Help Desk Operations
- Oversee help desk and end-user technical support services, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and high user satisfaction.
- Be knowledgeable of adaptive computer access technology to enable individuals with disabilities to utilize information systems effectively.
- Oversee employee onboarding processes, including establishing user accounts, assigning and installing computer equipment, and user training of new staff. Oversee offboarding processes for exiting employees.
Leadership & Administration
- Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate MIS department staff.
- Manage IT budget development and cost projections.
- Negotiate and manage vendor contracts.
- Coordinate special technology related projects.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience.
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in an IT role.
- Strong demonstrated expertise in IT infrastructure management including supporting multi-location environments and remote employees.
- Demonstrated experience in network systems, virtual private networks, database management, and software applications.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and information governance best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management skills, including internal and external people and entities.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to travel throughout the CRI service area as needed to support CRI IT operations.
- This is not a desk-only position. This position often includes physically installing/upgrading IT equipment and networks, including in satellite offices. Must be able to perform the physical aspects of this part of the job, including but not limited to lifting, standing, bending, crouching, climbing, reaching overhead, and climbing stairs.
Preferred:
- Experience in healthcare, human services, non-profit, or government-funded environments.
- Knowledge of adaptive computer access technologies for individuals with disabilities.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel and potential overnight stays
