Sr Electrical Engineer
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
\n
Design electrical systems, equipment, facilities, and components for industrial processes in the
\n
LNG and natural gas industries.
\n
Develop engineering deliverables including one-line diagrams, power distribution drawings,
\n
wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and calculations.
\n
Direct and coordinate CAD designers and drafters to produce accurate and complete
\n
engineering documentation.
\n
Prepare equipment specifications and requisitions for procurement activities.
\n
Review vendor quotations, drawings, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with
\n
project requirements and applicable codes and standards.
\n
Lead factory acceptance testing (FAT), and site commissioning activities.
\n
Interface with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate electrical and control systems
\n
into overall plant designs.
\n
Provide technical support during construction, installation, and plant startup. Typical travel is
\n
expected to average around 10% per year but varies by year.
\n
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and
\n
maintain project schedules.
\n
\n
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
\n
Strong understanding of industrial electrical power systems and power distribution systems.
\n
Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and electrical installations in classified locations
\n
preferred but not required.
\n
Experience with low-voltage systems (up to 480V) and medium-voltage systems (up to 4160V).
\n
Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), soft starters, motor control centers (MCCs), and
\n
process control systems.
\n
Proficiency with power system modeling and analysis software, preferably ETAP.
\n
Ability to develop electrical equipment and installation cost estimates in support of project
\n
proposals.
\n
Experience preparing bid packages, evaluating contractor proposals, and supporting contractor
\n
selection.
\n
Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the
\n
Workplace), and applicable IEEE, ANSI, and industry standards.
\n
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced engineering, procurement, and
\n
construction (EPC) environment.
\n
\n
Education and Experience
\n
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university.
\n
10-15 years of experience in electrical engineering, design, construction, commissioning,
\n
consulting, manufacturing, industrial facilities, energy, or related industries.
\n
Experience designing and supporting low-voltage electrical power distribution systems, motor
\n
control centers, and related electrical equipment.
\n
Strong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.
\n
Preferred
\n
Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain licensure within one year of hire.
\n
Experience supporting projects through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and
\n
startup.
\n
Field experience involving equipment installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, or
\n
contractor coordination.
\n
Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
