Schedule & Coverage
-
MondayFriday: 30 physician hours with 34 NP/PA hours

SaturdaySunday: 33 physician hours with 24 NP/PA hours

Scribe coverage: 36 hours
Requirements
-
MD/DO with completed Emergency Medicine residency
-
ABEM board certification required
-
New EM graduates accepted
-
Active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license
-
Active DEA with Louisiana address
-
Louisiana Controlled Substance License
-
Supervising Physician License for PA supervision
-
BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS as applicable
-
If ABEM-certified and actively participating in ABEM MOC, no additional merit badges are required
-
If EM board eligible, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS are required; AHA preferred
Credentialing & Compliance

Case logs for the past 2 years
-
CME documentation for the past 2 years
-
Current-season flu vaccination
-
TB documentation from the past 12 months or chest X-ray, as applicable

Health attestation completed by PCP or peer
-
Malpractice coverage of $100K/$300K
-
LPCF enrollment required; locums must be enrolled for a minimum of 90 days at a time

Join a busy Emergency Medicine team supporting a 20-bed ED with approximately 41,000 annual visits. The department provides comprehensive emergency care within a health system offering a broad range of medical, critical care, pediatric, and women's health services.
