Job Summary
We are seeking an analytical and collaborative Cost Accountant to join our team in Fontana, CA. In this role, you will partner directly with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement, and Inventory Control to drive operational excellence, reduce costs, and improve gross margins.
You will manage inventory transaction accuracy, execute standard cost rolls, lead physical inventory counts, and ensure full compliance with US GAAP. Key Responsibilities
- Operational Partnership: Partner with Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement, Outside Processing, and Inventory Control to identify cost reduction opportunities and support LEAN/Theory of Constraints (ToC) initiatives.
- Costing & Valuation: Maintain, review, and update standard costs for all work cells. Execute timely routine cost rolls and lead the annual comprehensive cost roll.
- Inventory Control: Ensure inventory valuation accuracy. Lead annual physical inventory counts, quarterly mini-counts, and track cycle counts to prevent write-offs/write-downs.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and communicate daily/monthly P&Ls, margin analysis, and financial reporting for operations leadership to guide major business decisions.
- Planning & Forecasting: Assist the Controller with financial forecasts, annual budgets, operating plans, and project evaluations (including ERP updates).
- Compliance: Ensure all cost accounting transactions comply with US GAAP and internal company policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on Cost Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills:

- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of Infor Visual Manufacturing and Infor Global Financials (or Global Visual) is highly preferred.

- Strong expertise in core accounting disciplines: financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, and planning/forecasting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously while hitting targeted timelines and budgets.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly to cross-functional operational teams.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Work Environment: Quiet, professional office environment adjacent to manufacturing facilities.
- Physical Demands: Prolonged sitting, desktop computer work, standard office tasks, and occasional standing/walking. Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally.
