POSITION SUMMARY:
AquaCal AutoPilot is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Quality Technician to support product quality through the manufacturing cycle. This role is responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring the quality of products and components throughout the manufacturing process. The Quality Technician plays a key role in quality assurance activities, including failure analysis, RMA processing, supplier corrective actions, quality reporting, calibration coordination, and repair of rejected or returned units. They will use various tools, equipment, and systems to measure and analyze performance, functionality, and compliance, while documenting and reporting defects, non-conformities, and process deviations. This position works closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and quality teams to implement corrective and preventive actions and drive continuous improvement of quality processes and procedures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with RMA processing and supplier corrective actions, including failure investigation, vendor coordination, and ensuring timely resolution of quality issues
- Analyze quality processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and overall product quality.
- Develop and maintain quality reports and help identify trends, drive corrective actions, and improve processes
- Identify and report any defects, non-conformities, or deviations from specifications and standards
- Collaborate with the production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues
- Utilize ERP system to perform inventory moves of failed parts
- Evaluate and troubleshoot field failed units and identify root cause. Record data in quality database.
- Record internal quality processes
- Maintain accurate and complete quality records and reports.
- Conduct production quality audits and assessments, participate in quality training and education programs.
- Coordinate sensor calibration
- Line Repair /RGA
- Evaluate, troubleshoot and repair rejected production units at line repair station
- Train and inform operations of quality issues discovered at line repair
- Perform testing and repairs at the Returned Goods Authorization (RGA) station
- Record data for failure analysis and testing
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing, quality, testing, or production environment.
- Experience with troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical products preferred.
- Prior experience in quality assurance, product testing, failure analysis, or repair operations is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and specifications.
- Knowledge of quality systems, inspection methods, and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and recommend solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and email communication.
- Ability to learn and utilize ERP and quality management systems.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in the use of inspection, testing, and measurement equipment.
- Ability to perform troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
- Ability to obtain EPA Certification.
- Ability to demonstrate brazing skills and successfully complete internal brazing certification training.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform hands-on technical work in a manufacturing environment.
