Position Summary: The IT System Administrator installs, builds, configures, manages and provides support on Summit IT infrastructure and related systems. The system administrator also serves as escalation support for IT support specialists in supporting Summit compute devices, printers and applications. Support duties will be carried out in both the office environment as well as the manufacturing /production floor.
Qualifications: Candidate must have 10 or more years’ experience supporting IT systems preferably in the printed circuit industry and must be able to perform each listed responsibility satisfactory. The criteria listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Responsibilities:
- Build, configure & manage physical & virtual machines. Install, configure & manage applications. Plan & execute storage & virtualization management tasks
- Perform user administration tasks in Active Directory, Exchange, Duo, and related systems
- Infrastructure troubleshooting & problem resolution (system/network/voice)
- Configure, install and manage network equipment including firewalls, switches, routers, WiFi access points and connectivity between buildings, VPN tunnels and ISP
- Create, manage and verify daily backups of all servers and systems
- Implement application patches and assist with the identification/classification of RFCs and modifications to existing software applications for security, maintainability, and supportability
- Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
- Monitor service desk ticket queues and respond to requests for service in a timely manner
- Work with external vendors to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Create documentation and KB articles for team members to aid in cross training and consistency in work efforts. Keep documentation up-to-date
- Inform management of recurring problems
- Work with team members to find solutions for recurring problems
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills / Experience:
- 10+ years’ experience installing, configuring & troubleshooting Microsoft/Linux server OS
- Windows 2019, 2022, 2025 experience
- 10+ years’ experience managing firewalls, routers, switches, WiFi AP’s
- 10+ years’ experience with Active Directory, VMware, MDM solutions
- 7+ years’ experience with VMware vCenter and vSphere ESXi 6.5 and above
- 5+ years’ SQL DB experience
- Mastery of LAN/WAN concepts, including TCP/IP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, LDAP, firewalls
- Scripting experience: Wscript, PowerShell, Lua, Perl, etc.
- Flexible and able to work as part of a team or independently
- Highly organized, attention to detail and able to multi-task
- Fortinet security fabric experience is a plus (FortiClient, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSIEM, FortiGate)
- NetApp experience is a plus
Education / Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CompTIA A+, Net+, Security+ certification desired
- Certified Wireless Network Administrator and VMWare certified Professional are a plus
