Job Title: Lead Windows Administrator

Job Summary

World Services is seeking an experienced Lead Windows Administrator to oversee endpoint management and enterprise IT workflows for a federal client. The Lead Windows Administrator will lead patch management, software deployment, encryption, and workflow automation, ensuring a secure and seamless end-user experience. This individual will leverage modern administration tools and scripting languages to optimize processes and strengthen system security across a large enterprise environment.

This is a full-time, onsite role based in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead endpoint administration, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations.
  • Manage and execute enterprise patch management processes, including testing for compatibility and mitigating risks with security teams.
  • Oversee software deployment, encryption management, and device provisioning.
  • Drive automation and workflow optimization for patching, imaging, encryption, and software distribution using tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, SCCM, and Intune.
  • Provide expert administration and support for Windows workstation imaging, COTS/GOTS application deployment, and enterprise desktop engineering.
  • Manage and optimize Active Directory architecture, Group Policy configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement security best practices across Windows and Active Directory environments, including encryption (e.g., BitLocker) and backup/recovery solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT and security teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare reports and provide technical recommendations to leadership regarding system health, patch compliance, and automation improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: 5–8 years of progressive experience in Windows administration and enterprise endpoint management.
  • Certifications:
    • CompTIA A+, MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert), or equivalent.
  • Expert-level experience with:
    • Windows workstation support and imaging.
    • Patch management and enterprise software deployment.
    • Encryption solutions, including BitLocker and other at-rest encryption tools.
    • Automation and scripting (PowerShell required; Ansible preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory (architecture, design, implementation, security, and recovery).
  • Hands-on experience with Group Policy management and troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing Microsoft enterprise environments, including M365, Azure AD/Entra ID, MECM, Intune, and related administrative tools.
  • Proven ability to lead and support enterprise-scale endpoint engineering and administration functions.

Location & Work Hours

  • Location: Washington, DC (Onsite, 5 days per week)
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Eastern), excluding federal holidays

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00
