SUMMARY

Responsible for people, welfare and completion of jobs. Responsible for electrical and mechanical servicing and efficient maintenance of production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures adhering to procedures set by the emergency response coordinator by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Directs the operations and maintenance of cooling towers, air compressors, chillers, injection machines and assist equipment, such as conveyors, end of arm tooling, water, electrical and all other resources to provide an uninterrupted service to production.

Develops, schedules, processes and controls preventive maintenance programs to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition.

Plans a continual work schedule to maintain all company property in a safe and healthy condition to achieve the best working conditions possible for all employees.

Ensures proper maintenance of facility machinery and building, spot checks to ensure supervisors are performing their duties, such as graphs, P.M., C.M., B.M., continuous improvements, inventory levels in the parts crib, maintaining their budget, while pleasing production.

Inspects jobs periodically to ensure the utmost standards and workmanship and safety are being maintained.

Responsible for enhancing continuous improvement, motivating employees, inspiring teamwork.

Ensuring good levels of communication are reached for all levels and that everyone understands, listens, cooperates in a positive way.

Contacts and develops plans with outside contractors.

Ensures small work group gatherings to brainstorm to come up with advance ways of containing problems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages supervisors who supervise employees in the Maintenance Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Hazardous material handling certifications required for assigned duties including but not limited to: Hazardous waste operations and emergency response, Respirator Training and Fit Testing, Chromium (VI) awareness training, Hexavalent Chromium awareness training and any other training required by regulation.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to establish a process that adheres to containing and solving problems, but also looking for variables that will be affected by the decision down the road.
