FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – INSULATED METAL PANELS

Position Summary

The Field Technician provides on-site technical support for the installation, inspection, and performance of FALK’s insulated metal panel (IMP) systems. This role works directly with contractors, installers, and customers to ensure panels are installed correctly, meet project specifications, and perform as designed.

As a technical representative of FALK Panel, the Field Technician supports quality assurance, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle by serving as a knowledgeable field resource and problem solver.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical and installation support for insulated metal panels and related accessories.
  • Inspect panel installations to ensure compliance with FALK installation guidelines, project specifications, and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose field issues related to panel fit, alignment, sealing, fastening, and overall system performance.
  • Perform minor field adjustments or corrective actions when required.
  • Communicate technical recommendations, best practices, and corrective guidance to contractors, installers, and project stakeholders.
  • Assist customers and installers with questions regarding panel handling, installation methods, and maintenance requirements.
  • Document site visits, inspections, findings, and corrective actions in detailed field service reports.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to resolve field-related issues.
  • Follow all company safety policies and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Represent FALK Panel professionally at all customer and project locations.

Qualifications

  • Technical background in construction, building systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with insulated metal panels, metal wall systems, roofing systems, or building envelope products preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, installation manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role.
  • Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel as required – 50% Travel.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Field-based role with frequent travel to active construction sites.
  • Work may involve outdoor conditions, exposure to varying weather, heights, ladders, and lifts.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting materials, and working with hand and power tools.
