Job DescriptionAssociate Attorney (Technology, Communications & Media) – Washington, DC
Direct Counsel is seeking an Associate Attorney to join a nationally recognized law firm in its Washington, DC office. This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly regarded Technology, Communications, and Media practice handling complex regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters.
About the Practice
The firm’s Technology, Communications, and Media practice advises a wide range of clients in the communications sector, including broadband and cable providers, wireless service providers, programming networks, satellite operators, and industry trade associations. The practice spans regulatory, legislative, and litigation matters before the FCC, Congress, Executive Branch agencies, and federal and state courts, as well as domestic and international business transactions.
Responsibilities

Research and draft FCC pleadings and related regulatory filings

Draft court motions, briefs, and other litigation pleadings

Prepare for depositions and manage the discovery process

Assist in developing strategies to help clients achieve regulatory and legislative objectives

Advise clients on regulatory compliance matters

Support due diligence efforts in connection with transactions

Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team-oriented practice
Attorneys are encouraged to work from the office approximately 60% of the time, in accordance with firm guidelines.
Qualifications

JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school

Admission to the District of Columbia Bar or eligibility for admission

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $260,000 – $365,000 (commensurate with experience)
