Position Overview
Our client is hiring CDL-A team drivers for a dedicated big-box retail team account with loads starting and ending in Lake City, Florida. Freight on this fleet is dry van retail, no-touch, running the I-95 corridor through FL, SC, NC and VA, with occasional deliveries in TN or GA.
Home time is weekly, which makes this a strong fit for drivers who want a predictable routine and a consistent paycheck rather than long, open-ended stretches on the road. Average earnings on this account run $1,335 per week, approximately $69,420 annualized.
Key Responsibilities
You will operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and legally at all times, completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitoring your hours of service, and keeping your logs accurate and current in accordance with federal regulations and company policy.
You will transport freight on schedule across the I-95 corridor through FL, SC, NC and VA, with occasional deliveries in TN or GA, following assigned routes, planning fuel and rest stops sensibly, and communicating proactively with your fleet manager when weather, traffic, or a customer delay puts a delivery window at risk.
All freight is no-touch, on a consistent schedule with predictable miles.
Teams run up and down the I-95 corridor on a settled lane.
You will verify load counts, seals, and paperwork at pickup and delivery, secure freight correctly for transit, and complete bills of lading and delivery documentation accurately so the customer's records and yours agree.
As a team operation, you and your co-driver share responsibility for keeping the truck moving legally and safely, coordinating driving and rest so the unit stays productive without either driver running outside their hours.
You will represent our client professionally at every customer location, maintain the condition and cleanliness of your assigned equipment, and report mechanical issues promptly so they are addressed before they become a breakdown.
Requirements
A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required, along with a minimum of 3 months of verifiable CDL-A driving experience. You must meet all Department of Transportation qualification requirements and hold a current DOT medical certification.
An acceptable motor vehicle record and safety history are required. You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and comply with all federal testing requirements throughout your employment.
Hiring within 100 miles of Lake City, FL, plus NC, SC and GA.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior team driving experience is preferred. Established teams are welcome to apply together, and drivers who have run team before understand the coordination that makes the miles work.
A clean safety record, consistent on-time performance, and a track record of steady tenure with previous carriers all strengthen an application. Drivers who communicate well with dispatch, handle customer contact professionally, and take care of their equipment tend to do well on dedicated accounts like this one.
Compensation and Benefits
Average earnings on this account are $1,335 per week, approximately $69,420 annualized. Pay is made up of: Mileage pay.
Home time: Home Weekly. 34-hour reset weekly.
Equipment: top-of-the-line automatic transmission sleeper trucks. There are currently 6 openings on this fleet.
